A responsible community record
These terms explain how Rivistry’s public data, community observations, accounts, and AI-assisted features may be used.
Effective August 13, 2026Rivistry provides educational access to public water-quality information and reviewed community observations. You may browse the site and use its features for personal, educational, and community purposes in accordance with these terms.
Rivistry does not determine whether water is safe for swimming, boating, drinking, fishing, or other activity. Measurements and photographs may be incomplete, delayed, estimated, or inaccurate.
Always follow official advisories, posted signs, weather alerts, emergency instructions, and guidance from public-health or environmental authorities. Do not enter unsafe areas or water to collect an observation.
If you sign in, you are responsible for activity associated with your account and for maintaining control of your Google account. You must provide accurate information and may not impersonate another person or use another person’s account without permission.
You retain ownership of photos and text you submit. You grant Rivistry a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, analyze, review, reproduce, resize, and publicly display an approved contribution for the purpose of operating and promoting the Rivistry community record.
You confirm that you created the contribution or have permission to share it, and that it does not violate another person’s privacy, copyright, or other rights.
Do not submit unlawful, threatening, deceptive, hateful, sexually explicit, or harmful material; personal contact information; faces of people without appropriate permission; content that identifies sensitive wildlife locations; malware; spam; or material you do not have the right to share.
AI-generated labels, hazard suggestions, and community alerts can be wrong. They do not replace expert identification, laboratory testing, official monitoring, or professional advice. Review and publication do not guarantee accuracy or confirm that conditions remain unchanged.
Rivistry may review, reject, relabel, limit, or remove contributions and may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect people, wildlife, the service, or the integrity of the community record. Rivistry is not obligated to publish or retain any contribution.
Rivistry may display information from government agencies, watershed organizations, monitoring networks, maps, authentication providers, and other third parties. Their own terms and policies may apply, and Rivistry does not control their accuracy, availability, or practices.
The service is provided on an “as available” basis without a promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, or suitable for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, Rivistry is not liable for decisions, injuries, losses, or damages arising from reliance on site content or community observations.
Rivistry may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use after an updated effective date means you accept the revised terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service and remove eligible account content.
